Estuary Ritual
A basking in ritual to honor Yemaya & Oshun
Ifá is a Yoruba religion and system of divination.
There are many Orishas, different numbers depending on the folklore told. 400, 700, 1440 but there are 7 modern day adherents. Two of them being Yemaya and Oshun.
The basking in ritual will be in honor of them for the purpose of aiding you to connect to your higher self for a specific journey. Although Oshun is known to work with and for love, the personal spiritual practices I do doesn't allow me to work such rituals. The basking in ritual has the option to work specifically with the womb, fertility and/or bringing in a new home, purpose and opportunities in connection to elevating into the next chapter.
What is an Estuary?
An estuary is an area where a freshwater river or stream meets the ocean. In estuaries, the salty ocean mixes with a freshwater river, resulting in brackish water. Brackish water is somewhat salty, but not as salty as the ocean.
It is where the River meets the Ocean. Some people call estuaries "nurseries" of the sea because many animals lay eggs or have young there. Estuaries protect areas farther inland from flooding caused by hurricanes or other coastal storms.
In the folklore of the two Orishas this scientific discovery is also intertwined with the beliefs and traditions of the divination.
