Check *Specifically for conception1Clean & Cleanse your space
Clean your home as you normally do and thoroughly clean the space you will use for the ritual including your altar space (whether it is a new altar or your traditional altar)
Take your abalone shell and Bee Sage and cleanse your home starting from (if you have multiple levels) top to bottom from the back of your home to the entrance. When you are done airing out your space you can put the smoke out with the shell.
As you smoke your space say these words out loud or to yourself "I have sacrificed my time, energy and exchange with faith to honor myself and the deties called to assit me in cleaning and cleansing my space to attract not only what I need but what I want to bring into fruition and in my path to manifest happiness and peace in both my spirit and physical space. I am using this tool and ritual to guide me through the necessary journey"
2Clean & Cleanse yourself
Take your traditional shower (washing hair is optional)
Be mindful of how you cleanse your aura and physical body.
Here is a technique I use that can be helpful.
(General Mindful Shower Technique)
* If you need to, clean shower/tub again
After you are clean (you can dry yourself as you normally would but only use an unused white towel/cloth and while you have no clothes on take your Bee Sage and smoke your body starting from bottom (feet) to top (head) go in any circular direction that feels comfortable to you as long as you go from bottom to top. Allow the smoke to surround you and stay in position until it has all cleared.
3Prepare your Basking
For tub: Prepare your water at your comfiest temperature. Fill tub to the level you can soak in and add your Estuary bath and place your turtle ornament in the water. Light your tealight anywhere in the bathroom that is safe from creating a possible fire. Take your kraft book and a pen and place it where it is easy to reach when you are in the tub.
Place the two cinnamon sticks in the water.
* if you are looking to conceive you will NOT place in the tub. You will be placing one in your pillowcase and one in your partners pillowcase. for minimum 21 days.
For shower: Prepare a container with at the minimum 1 gallon of water and mix the Estuary bath in it. Allow it to sit for at least 7 minutes. Once the water is still place the turtle ornament in the container. Light your tealight in your bathroom away from anywhere a fire is possible and place your kraft book and pen anywhere that is easy for you to access after you come out your shower.
Place the two cinnamon sticks in the container of water.
* if you are looking to conceive you will NOT place in the container. You will be placing one in your pillowcase and one in your partners pillowcase for minimum 21 days.
4Bask
For tub: Get in you tub and allow your body to soak, wet your face. You can submerge your whole head if you want but it is not needed. If you need to continue letting the water run for temperature or level you can, Just don't purposely drain your water. Do a 9 count meditation

After, your meditation you will sit in stillness for 1 minute (longer if needed) and afterwards write in your kraft book what you feel, what you felt, what you saw, what you want. Do not feel pressured to write entries. You can jot, take a note, write one word, it doesn't matter, It is just to record the interaction with your higher being to later reflect on the feeling.
Hold your turtle ornament and speak to him/her. On the last page of your kraft book is a name, that is the name given to your turtle ornament. Feel free to use any introduction that calls you. Speak as if the turtle is a real life person in front of you.
*crying usually happens here :) totally okay.
You will tell your turtle all you have experienced that you can recall and/or feel is necessary for him/her to know. You will tell him/her you are doing this ritual and including him/her to help you swim fast and slow down when need be. To allow you to stay faithful in the process and to connect to the many lives you have lived to open your third eye in knowing you are wise and protected to navigate both the strong waters and the smoke on the land.
For shower:
Pour the container on your body. You can start from the neck if you don't want to wash your hair but leave a decent amount of basking so that you can wash your face with it as well. Get out and air dry. Do not rub off any particles. You can cover with an unused white towel and you will begin your meditation anywhere you feel comfortable. Do a 9 count meditation

5After Basking
Air dry! To not rub off any particles. Adding lotion, oils, makeup, hair products, perfume is all okay and actually encouraged to honor the beautification essence of Yemaya and Oshun.
6Creating or adding to your altar
If you already have an altar:
Make a space for your practice on your existing altar. You will have to keep this altar active for at a minimum of 21 days. If you already have an existing altar honoring Yemaya &/or Oshun you can add items to the altar. Feel free to add any adornments from the Orisha Offerings provided on the landing page or anything you specifically connect with that honors the individual Orisha.
Add your two resin clear crystal adornments as representation of clarity, your turtle ornament, abalone shell and bee sage and kraft book along with any other items you'd like to add. You will be able to move the kraft book, abalone shell and bee sage to use as often as you'd like and you can use it for other practices with the exception of other Orisha practices.
For 21 days EVERYDAY you need to make time for your altar. If you are going away and wont have access to your altar, take at least two items with you. One of each representing both Orishas and meditate with your items wherever you are.
Spending time at your altar doesn't have to be in prayer or traditional meditation unless you are not physically at it. Spending time with your altar can be sitting in the space and actively utilizing the time you have in gratitude. By doing work, reading, writing, eating, releasing, and counseling yourself, your higher being.
Altars help us self rationalize, actualize and master our higher being in our physical space by connecting and muting the noise outside of us.
Every time you spend time at your altar you will notate in your kraft book the date and a word(s) that depicts your current feelings.
*If you are looking to conceive take a page from you kraft book and write the letter C on it, fold paper in one half and place on the altar with the sea shell on top of it.

Meditation
I understand many people have trouble meditating due to the idea of what meditation is. Do not worry you cannot meditate incorrectly. You can only meditate or meditate differently. If you have too many racing thoughts, that's okay. Allow yourself to think through them rather than trying to avoid or ignore it. The mind will clear once we allow it to freely release whatever is occupying the space. If you find yourself thinking of a chore or task, allow yourself to run the course of whatever it is you need to do an do it in your mind and move on.
